The Unburdened Lab Protocol: Shipping & Returns

At Unburdened Labs, we treat every order as a technical deployment. Our goal is to ensure your signature atmosphere arrives intact and ready to perform. Because we are a small-batch laboratory based in Rhinelander, WI, we’ve engineered a policy that prioritizes your experience while protecting the integrity of our craft.

1. The “Trial-First” Guarantee

We understand that scent is subjective. To provide exceptional service without the risk of “blind buying,” we follow this protocol for all 30ml & 50ml fragrance bottles:

• The Included Sample: Every 30ml & 50ml purchase includes a matching 2ml sample vial tucked inside the package.
• The Rule: Before breaking the seal on your full-sized bottle, test the sample first. *
• The Return: If the fragrance doesn’t resonate with your personal chemistry, you may return the unopened, seal-intact 30ml or 50ml bottle within 30 days for a full refund (minus shipping).
• Note: Once the 30ml bottle seal is broken, it is considered “deployed” and is no longer eligible for return.

2. Car Diffuser & Discovery Set Policy

Due to the nature of these items and the high cost of shipping relative to their price:

• Car Diffusers: These are final sale. However, if you find a scent isn’t for you, we encourage you to pass it along to a friend. If you’re unhappy with your choice, contact us—we’ll send you a one-time 50% discount code to try a different fragrance profile.
• Discovery Sets: These are your best entry point into the Lab and are non-refundable.

3. Damages & Lab Errors

If your order arrives compromised—leaking bottles, broken glass, or a shipment error—we take full responsibility.

• Protocol: Email us a photo of the damage at info@unburdenedlabs.com within 48 hours of delivery.
• Resolution: We will ship a replacement immediately at zero cost to you. No paperwork, no hassle.

4. Shipping Specs

• Lead Time: As a one-man lab, please allow 3–5 business days for batching and processing before your order ships.
• Carrier: We ship via USPS Ground Advantage from Northern Wisconsin. You will receive a tracking number the moment your label is generated.
• International: Currently, we only ship within the contiguous United States due to the high alcohol content of our fragrances.

5. How to Initiate a Return

1. Verify your 30ml or 50ml bottle is still sealed.
2. Email info@unburdenedlabs.com with your Order Number and the reason for the return.
3. We will provide the return shipping address. Please note that customers are responsible for return shipping costs for non-damaged items.
